School Improvement

Primary TfM Focused Issue: Lesson Design – Using NCETM PD Materials and Text Books

As part of the continuing development for schools who are engaged in a mathematics teaching for mastery approach, NW1 are offering the opportunity for colleagues to join a work group in developing their practice. The project will focus on a ‘keep up not catch up’ approach to intervention in a mastery context to ensure that mathematics teaching has maximum impact for all children. Participant teachers and leaders will further their understanding of teaching for mastery by using case studies and research to inform their practice. Schools will trial a model decided by the group and will document their observations to share with others. The commitment will be three days across the year and is suitable for maths leads, Teacher Research Group participants and colleagues who wish to further develop their expertise.
