Regional Citizenship Hubs

Citizenship Excellence

The purpose of the new Citizenship Hubs is to create a network of teachers who have an interest in, or who teach Citizenship at KS3 or GCSE. We aim to increase citizenship expertise and excellence across the country through promoting and distributing knowledge and good practice in citizenship teaching and learning. Together, we will support Citizenship teachers, increase the pool of Citizenship education expertise and build a network of committed and expert subject leaders.

Where and When?

The first meetings are taking place on: 12th December: 4.30pm-5.30pm across the country.

For the North West, the venue is: Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, Cavendish Road, Bowdon, WA14 2NL.

Your host will be Emily Mitchell, ACT Ambassador Teacher for the North West Come along to meet other teachers, share ideas and learn about what support is available for Citizenship. Its an opportunity to ask questions and take away some inspiring ideas.

What will be discussed?

At this meeting:

  •  What can we learn from each other? How can we shape the future of Citizenship education through     hub meetings?
  •  How can the Politics Outreach team support schools?
  •  Where can I find out about latest resources and support?
  •  How can I get support to teach the GCSE?
